Beauty News | New Korean Beauty Finds August!

One of the things that really excites me since delving into the Korean beauty market is the incredibly amount of new things that roll out in any given season. While the West tends to rely on Limited Edition collections, the Korean beauty world just seem to pump out new items every month and with the vast selection of brand out there I couldn't help but get a little curious. Here are a few products that have perked up my ears, I've linked them through KoreaDepart for easy English information but I'm sure you'll be able to find them soon through other online retailers in a few weeks.

New Korean Beauty Products

Wildly popular brand Skinfood has recently released an updated version of their Water Drop hydration collection aptly named Water Drop Facial Ice Water Cream which contains Alaskan glacial water. Meant to provide moisture while remaining fresh it can be used on both face and body to cool down after the summer heat. If you're wondering about the cute drawings, this packing is actually done in collaboration with Korean artist Water Drop Sonata.

Coming from one of my favourite bb cream brands, word has it that Skin79 just put out their own CC Cream consisting of an illuminating primer (listed as "control") and a light coverage base (listed as "correct"). Both contain the usual Skin79 mix of herbal and plant ingredients and are meant to be have great adhesion while protecting your skin from the elements, enhancing the look of your skin without the obvious look of foundation.

Peripera has added a new pressed powder to their base line called the Heart Glow Pact, which with SPF30/PA+++ is meant to provide skin with a super smooth finish using their "blurry powder" technology while preserving luminosity and radiance with a semi matte finish. This powder comes in 2 shades (light beige, medium beige) and boasts a blend of pearl particles, deep sea water and hylauronic acid.

If the idea of a skin caring compact intrigues you, Elisha Coy in their cc cream release has put out a portable liquid compact addition to their base range, the Always Nudy CC Cushion. With a sun protection factor of SPF50/PA+++ this refillable compact contains a skin soothing and cooling combination of ingredients like jasmine, squalene and calendula extracts to impart a transparent and resilient look to the skin.

Korean brand Beyond is one that is very new to me but as some of you have been asking me about specific cruelty free lines, this may be an option worth looking into as they as listed under "non animal tested" on the Korean Depart website. I instantly feel into love with the look of their Woody Pots which looks to be a moussey lip and cheek colour which comes in a good array of shades plus that darn adorable pot! The brand currently produces a full range of cosmetics, skin and body care products.

Fans of kitschy brand Banila Co. should have a look at their new Floral Waltz Color Change Tint which comes in 4 shades neatly packaged into small squeeze tubes much like an artist product. Applied with fingers onto lips, this colour changing tint contains moisturizers to add juicy volume to your pout.

Back with another product from Beyond, this lipstick with it's squirrel head packaging (so reminiscent of those covetable Paul & Joe lippies) is a vivid colour melting textured lipstick enhance with Vitamin C to smooth and shade your lips. With 6 shades ranging from pinks to reds, I think these are not only beautiful in colour but also fun to own.

Now I think it's pretty fair to say that putting sun protection on our hands is probably pretty low on our list of beauty priorities. Remind yourself to do this daily with Skinfood's Rose and Shea Butter Handcream. I was really surprised to see this SPF25/PA++ from Skinfood which I think it something we all need in our lives to remind us that the sun is everywhere, especially since our hands are always exposed to the elements. Contains bulgarian rose scent as well as the much beloved shea butter.

Lastly if you're a big fan of chubby lip pencils (which have been rolling out like crazy lately), here's something to add to your stash. Midrange brand Lotree has released their Cocktail Stick Bar, a surprisingly affordable range of lipsticks in a pencil form that can be used with twist up ease. Infused with avocado, rosehip and macadamia oil these look like an easy pick me up to add to your traveling makeup bag.

So there you have it, a few things that I thought may interest you as I was doing my weekly runabout my favourite Korean beauty sites. Do let me know if you enjoy these beauty release updates once in a while. Personally I think that Skin79 CC cream, Skinfood handcream and Beyond lipstick will have to come home with me soon.

Any of these catch your eye?
