Benefit | Moisture Prep Toning Lotion

Benefit Cosmetics is about more than just makeup, did you know that they had a skincare line? In fact, they've kept it going for a long time with a full range of skin creams, face wash and even a scrub but it was only recently when they revamped their entire skincare range that I really perked up my ears. The new range consists of 9 corresponding products that takes you from makeup removing down to a spot zapping cream, all in fresh apothecary inspired vintage blue packaging. I received the "prepping lotion" (aka. toner) from the line a beauty box and have been giving it a test drive for the past week.

Now let's get one thing out of the way, the overall concept of this line is undeniably adorable and I love the cohesiveness of the set which now actually look like they belong together will sit prettily on your vanity. The toner itself has a slightly milky viscous consistency which seems to absorb better when wiped across the skin on a cotton pad rather than applied with bare hands. This toner is also heavily scented (likely the same goes for the entire range) so sensitive noses may want to pass it up but for those who do love the aromatic aspect of products the fragrance is very similar to Ralph Lauren's "Ralph" (in the blue bottle). I found it did a great job at making my skin feel refreshed and clarified with out stinging or irritation despite the alcohol content present. It's not highly moisturizing by any means so I'd recommend this for those with normal to oily skin rather than dry skin, overall seems to be a decent product with lots of potential and has certainly gotten me interested in trying more from the line in the future.
