Here's an update to my new foundations that were not in the previous swatch pictures. Click to enlarge!

*I know the OCC foundation looks horrendous here but once you actually start to blend it, the pigments mix together and it turns colour! In the end it is a bit more yellow/less-pink and lighter.
Overall from this batch of photos, I think the MUFE HD Foundation is my best match thus far. Now if only the actual foundation was little bit better....
what's your take on MUF HD?
ReplyDeletewe're the same colouring! finally! i've been looking for a blogger with the same skin colour as me so i can see if i want a mufe or if i want another brand, what colour i am :P
ReplyDeletei just got the revlon colourstay online so i have to see whether it's a good match or not :) does it match well with your skin tone?
Not sure if you are looking for anymore foundations, but I just wanted to share my experience as we are the exact same color- YELLOW but fair- which can be a total pain. :X
ReplyDeleteOCC foundation- i find that mixing the Y0 and the Y2 actually works better than the Y1 (knowing it's a little pink just doesn't sit well in my head lol). I know you already bought a whole bottle of the Y1, but if you ever run out, I think you should give that a try. But i'll definitely test the Y1 more.
NARS- I actually use the color Gobi. It's more a true pale yellow than all the other colors. (from what I remember you have a darker shade right?)
I have tons of foundations, and none yellow enough. There are two I would definitely recommend
1. Lunasol MODELING WATER LIQUID FOUNDATION Yo02 (bought in Taiwan and ebay)- it's a good summer foundation as it is the tiniest bit dark. But can still work in the winter too- just use less. THis is anywhere from semi-sheer/medium/semi-full coverage. Just depends on how much you use. You can even forget concealer with this one if you don't have dark undersys circles.
2. New love- Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15 in Sand 2. More a sheer-medium coverage
Both of these stay on really nicely- not cakey at all. I have oily/combo acne prone skin and my skin looks glowy without being GREASY even with the summer weather right now in CA. Oh! And BOTH have SPF! Low SPF but still!
I hope that this helps whoever is reading this and has trouble finding foundations like I do.
Hi Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing Lunasol all over the place from people's blogs but its so expensive to buy here. It is more than my Chanel foundie!!! (and its 5ml less, only 25ml???)
And you're right about NARS, I purchased mine in the USA and that particular Sephora didn't have GOBI at all, so the SA recommended Ceylan...which is a bit TOO yellow/deep.
LOL +++you can never have too many foundies I dont think, i just rotate them XD
Oh! You're right! I never noticed the size difference. OOPS!
ReplyDeleteI did buy it on ebay for around $45? But for that price, at least I still have the Bobbi Brown option for around the same price at a full ounce. Works almost exactly the same. If only the MUFE HD worked the same. *sigh*
Anyhoo, just wanted to share with one of my fave bloggers who actually has the same skin type/tone as me! :)
